Please see below multiple scenarios to troubleshoot your VPN issues. 


1. Cisco VPN connection box is empty?



i) Type remote.rcdso.org in the box above and click Connect. It will then ask you for your username and password. Click Accept the terms and you should be able to connect to college VPN.


2.  If the Cisco AnyConnect VPN is giving the below error message.



i) The above error message is caused by no internet connection. 

    a) Make sure you are connected to the Internet either WiFi or using the Ethernet cable. 

    b) Open the web browser and navigate to a website (example: https://www.facebook.com/ ) which you didn't open in last few days to avoid the browser opening a cached website (For example: google.ca)

    c) Once you confirmed the website is loading which will confirm that you are connected to the internet. Now, open the Cisco Anyconnect VPN and click Connect. 


3. Cisco AnyConnect VPN keeps disconnecting.


Most of the time if VPN keep disconnecting, it is because of your internet connection. It requires a constant internet connection and if your internet is dropping connection in between and reconnecting automatically, which a normal user won't notice, you will experience the above issue. 


Most commonly this happens when you are connected wirelessly (WiFI). Hence, IT recommends using Internet cable(ethernet) from your home router to your work laptop.
